Jon Boyd Barrett | Founder

Survival Insight was founded by Jon in September of 2008 after his previous venture, an online retail store, went out of business due to the recent recession. For the first year of the website's existence, Jon managed and contributed to developing the site, article content and search engine optimization. With the recent additions to the work team, Jon currently oversees Survival Insight's overall evolvement.

Jon is a British ex-pat now living in Los Angeles. Asides from enjoying the beaches, sunny weather and countless hiking trails, he spends much of his time working in his primary profession as a Reiki Master and EFT practitioner. Most importantly, Jon ensures that his life is always evenly balanced between fun, work, and relaxation.

Gail Ramberg | Operations Administrator

Gail joined the Survival Insight team in January 2011 and is responsible for maintaining the site on a day-to-day basis. Gail has also begun writing some of the articles on the site.

Prior to joining the team, she was a department manager at Principal Residential Mortgage and Citigroup. After Gail's job was moved out of state, she decided to get out of Corporate America and began working online by learning to build and maintain websites.

She enjoys reading, playing volleyball (badly, because she's old now!) and anything that has to do with her two dogs. The dogs can be seen at www.TwoDogTownhouse.com. The site is dedicated to helping people find ways to live with dogs more easily when they don't have a big back yard to play in.

Samuel Muriithi | Contributing Writer

Samuel joined the Survival Insight team in November 2009. He has been a freelance writer for slightly more than two years and has in this time penned numerous articles, blogs, and web content for as many clients and websites. Samuel is adept at producing written content on a wide variety of topics, with particular emphasis on Search Engine Optimization through the use of designated keywords. Proper subject research and fluent writing are combined to make for an interesting read.

In addition to Survival Insight, Samuel is a member of the writing teams at Gaebler Ventures and Creative Website Designers. He is also a business planning consultant and has helped a number of Nairobi-based start-up and existent businesses come up with solid business plans.

In his spare time, Samuel loves to play or watch soccer and is an ardent supporter of F.C. Barcelona. He also enjoys listening to his extensive collection of roots reggae music in his mini-studio. Samuel studied Entrepreneurship at JKUAT Nairobi and has always wanted to be self-employed and independent.

Kerry joined the SurvivalInsight.com team in July 2010! A freelance writer for going on twelve years, Kerry has had a focus on technical and operational writing while also sidelining as a technical trainer for companies like Verizon and CompUSA.

Having written web content on a wide range of topics, Kerry provides articles that are well researched and easily relatable to the readers.

Writing is Kerry's passion; especially in the areas of financial advice, travel, relationships, and parenting (while on a budget!). With a combination of experience and a focus on providing high quality written material, Kerry's priority is always to create work that people actually want to read!
