An EFT session begins with a brief discussion of the feelings behind the issue that you wish to address. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EFT does not require deep analysis of past experiences - we are simply looking to remove the energetic charge linking disruptive thoughts with negative emotions.
More often than not, it is the forgotten traumas and unconscious thought patterns that are holding your negative emotions in place. As Jon guides you through the many layers and aspects of your issue, relevant and seemingly forgotten memories will likely rise to the surface. Through becoming conscious of the subconscious behaviors, you may become aware of things you thought you never knew about yourself.
During a session, many different emotions will arise and people are often surprised at how quickly EFT erases these negative feelings. EFT does not require you to "face your fears" or relive traumas in uncomfortable ways. For memories and emotions that you anticipate as being extremely difficult for you to bring up, Jon will take you trough preliminary techniques to make the process as gentle and easy for you as possible.
The number of EFT sessions you will need depends on on your issue. Many people experience complete relief in one session, while others may need two or three sessions to eliminate all the various aspects connected to the issue. Complex cases tend to be a culmination of various issues, and would likely require multiple sessions for complete relief. |
