Living without cable TV while still watching your favorite programs is not only possible but will also save you a lot of money. If the thought of saying goodbye to your cable box brings tears to your eyes and causes you to have cold sweat-inducing nightmares, close this page and pretend that this you never came accross this concept. However, if you’re ready to make the cost-cutting transition the then read on.
Here are four simple ways that you can watch your favorite TV shows when you no longer have cable.
1

Hulu

Hulu.com is a fantastic website. You can watch many of the latest network shows on your computer forthe cost of nothing. Furthermore, you don’t get nearly as many commercials as you do when you watch those shows on regular TV.

Hulu has many of the major network channel’s regular programs, such as Saturday Night Live, the Simpsoms, Stargate, Heroes and much much more. All you need is a computer with internet and Adobe Flash Player installed, which can be downloaded for free at the Adobe website.

2

Network Websites

Most of the major networks provide free online access to their most popular shows. NBC, MTV, FOX and Comedy Central are just some examples of the networks that do this. Often, episodes for shows come available online even before they are shown on TV. Oh and did I mention that it is free?
3

Youtube

Many new and old shows can be found on Youtube. It is easy to find episodes of your favorite sitcom, documentaries and much more. You can also find many weird and wonderful videos on pretty much anything you can think of.
4

Netflix

Netflix is a mail-based DVD rental company that has a seemingly endless variety of films and shows to choose from. The $10 to $15 it costs monthly for a Netflix account is tiny in comparison to cable TV bills. You could rent a whole series of your favorite show or rent hard-to find independent movies that would never be shown on cable TV. The only drawback is that, depending on the level membership you get, you are limited to renting a certain number of DVDs at a time.
